How to write a fashion photography prompt
A good prompt for an on-model product photo has five parts: the model, the pose, the setting, the light and the camera. Keep the garment out of the prompt’s imagination — describe it only to confirm it — because the product photo, not the words, should define what the model wears.
- Model: age range, skin tone, hair, expression
- Pose: standing, walking, seated, three-quarter turn
- Setting: studio sweep, street, rooftop, courtyard
- Light: soft studio, golden hour, overcast, window light
- Camera: full body / three-quarter / close-up; 50mm or 85mm look
Studio catalog prompts
For product pages and marketplaces.
- 1. Full-body front view, model standing relaxed, plain light-grey studio background, soft even lighting, 50mm, catalog style
- 2. Same model, back view, arms relaxed, same background and light
- 3. Three-quarter turn, weight on one leg, hands relaxed, white seamless background
- 4. Walking toward camera, mid-stride, studio background, slight motion in fabric
- 5. Seated on a white cube, legs crossed, soft light, full body in frame
- 6. Close-up from chest to waist showing the fabric and stitching, shallow depth of field
Street and lifestyle prompts
For ads and social.
- 7. Walking across a city crosswalk, overcast daylight, candid, full body

- 10. Rooftop at golden hour, city skyline behind, warm backlight

- 14. Arched sandstone courtyard, model walking slowly, raking late-afternoon light

Keep the garment accurate
Text-only image generators invent clothing from your words, so the print, embroidery and cut will not match your real product. For product photos, use a tool that takes your product photo as the input and uses the prompt only for the model, pose and setting. That is how Nokkh works: upload the garment, then direct the shoot — each photo is $0.50, and the first 50 brands get free credits to start.
FAQs
What is a good prompt for an AI fashion photo?expand_more
Describe the model, pose, setting, light and camera — for example: "full-body front view, model standing relaxed, plain light-grey studio background, soft even lighting, 50mm, catalog style". Let your product photo, not the prompt, define the garment.
Why does AI change my clothing’s design?expand_more
